#121 - Lance Reddick - Tick Tock
A personal hero of mine. No one can name a film that wouldn’t be improved by Lance Reddick replacing the main character. First came across him in LOST, where he was given one of the best character introductions i’ve ever seen. Pretty much became obsessed with him based on being the scariest looking man on the planet and having a huge on-screen presence, so when I found out he did these lounge-jazz recordings it made my year. Ashamedly, I know pretty much all the lyrics to his album. You may also know him as Phillip Broyles in Fringe where he puts his singing to use, or most famously as Cedric Daniels in The Wire. Favourite lyric from his album, which you can stream on his website: “Laughing in the rain. Making love on a rooftop, as it pours in the afternoon.” - but picked this track over the one featuring that due to it having a guitar solo.
Included in the list due to no piece of music ever making me laugh so much as when I first discovered this.
